Frequently Asked Questions

What does my registration fee include?
Your registration fee for the Bastrop TeamFit Challenge covers several key aspects to ensure an incredible experience. First, it includes a custom-designed event T-shirt you'll receive as a memento for participating. Second, it grants you entry into the competition, allowing you to compete in various events and activities. Lastly, your fee covers all the costs associated with organizing the event, from securing venues to providing necessary equipment, ensuring that the event day is enjoyable and memorable for everyone involved.

How many participants are required per team?
Each team must have at least four people per team.

Does a bigger team mean a better chance of winning?
You'll compete in a division based on the size of employees in your company. In theory, teams will be a similar size. However, some employers may recruit more team members. While larger teams might accumulate more participation points due to their size, it doesn't guarantee a win. A smaller, highly active team that collects its weekly habit points and excels in the final event can certainly outperform a bigger but less engaged team. Success hinges on both active participation and performance.

How do I sign up or join a team for the event?
First, rally some people in your workplace to register with you. Then, you can sign up through our registration page on the website. Link is in the menu on this page.

Can I sign up after February 10th, the start of the 10-week training period?
Yes, participants can sign up after February 10th; however, late registration comes with a few important considerations:

  • Missed Points: You will miss opportunities to earn points for your team through the weekly habit tracker for the weeks before your registration.

  • Training Impact: You may miss the full opportunity to train and prepare for the event finale, which could affect your performance in your selected events.

We encourage signing up as early as possible to maximize your contribution to your team and fully prepare for the challenge. Don't wait—get started today!

Do I need to participate in all the events?
No, you don't have to participate in all the events. You are welcome to participate in multiple events if you'd like, but it is unnecessary. Teams can strategize to have different members participate in different events based on their strengths and preferences.

Are there tryouts for the teams?
Employers or groups of employees form teams and are responsible for their own recruiting practices. We encourage participation from all skill levels.

Who provides the training, and is it formal? Are there specific training dates?
The event organizers do not formally provide training. Teams are encouraged to train independently or with local gyms and fitness centers, and local gyms and trainers are encouraged to find teams to train with. However, there are no specific training dates other than being ready to compete on April 19th.

How do I get points for my team during the 10-week training period?
Teams earn points by actively participating in training, completing weekly habit challenges, and tracking progress in categories like Strength, Endurance, Athletics, and Body Composition. Points are also awarded for team engagement, consistency, and overall effort throughout the 10 weeks. Details on how to log points will be provided at the start of the challenge.

Who decides on the team names and attire for the competition day?
The team members themselves decide on team names and attire. Creativity and team spirit are encouraged!

Who leads the team, and do they need extensive fitness knowledge?
Each team will have a captain, who can be anyone the team chooses. While fitness knowledge is helpful, the captain's primary role is to organize and motivate the team.

Are employers responsible for providing training for their teams?
Employers are not required to provide training. Teams can choose how they prepare through self-organized workouts or partnering with local gyms.

How do I know which events are best for me? Can I get more details about the events?
Our website details each event. Choose events that align with your interests and strengths. For guidance, feel free to consult with your team or fitness professionals.

Do we need a team member in every event or just in each category?
Your team doesn't need to compete in every event. The goal is to have at least one participant in each of the four main categories. Your team's strategy determines how you divide these events among team members.

The business size categories seem confusing. Can you clarify?
To ensure fair competition, the categories are based on the size of your business. The number of people employed by your company determines the small, medium, and large business categories. Our website outlines specific details and thresholds for each category.
